Our Role
The Network and Server Services
(NSS) group within University Information Systems (UIS) provides critical network,
server, and application services to the Harvard community. NSS also serves as
steward for the Harvard core network, ensuring that the network meets the immediate
and future needs of the University.
NSS is led by Joe Bruno, Director. Our offices are located at 60 Oxford Street, Cambridge.

- The Network Operations Center (NOC)
delivers a complete range of network services
including network and Internet connectivity, hub and router management, network
monitoring and problem resolution, and network planning and design.
- The Server Operations Center (SOC)
provides server services for University-wide
and department systems including library information systems, financial applications,
and human resources and payroll systems.
- The UIS Helpdesk offers application
support for a number of Central Administration (CA) applications such
as CA Mail e-mail service.
