Telecommunications Customer Service

The Customer Service office is open during business hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can reach us through your department's Telephone Contact or by phone, e-mail, or the web, as described below.

After-hours emergencies
If you experience a telephone emergency after hours or during a weekend or holiday, call 495-4900. When the voice mail answers, follow the instructions and press 0 to be connected to Verizon, which is Harvard's local carrier. They will contact Harvard's Telecommunications Engineering and Maintenance Manager, if the situation warrants it.

By phone
For tasks not handled by department Telephone Contacts, call the appropriate number during business hours.

  • Routine inquiries: Call the main Customer Service line at 495-8590. After hours, you can leave a voice mail message.
  • Request repair service for phone lines or equipment: Call 495-4900. (From the Longwood campus, call 432-4242.)
  • Voice mail questions and problems: Call 495-8255.
  • Billing inquiries: Call 495-5457. (From the Longwood campus, call 432-1509.)
  • Directory staff: Call 496-0627.
  • Cable and wiring projects: Call Engineering and Maintenance at 495-3217.
