Faculty/Staff: Contact Customer Service

Business hours
The Telecommunications Customer Service office is open during business hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can reach us through your department phone contact or by phone, the web, or e-mail, as described below.

Start with your department contact
Each department has one or more telephone contacts who work directly with the Telecommunications group. Speak with one of these contacts if you need to:

  • Request phone service, voice mail service, or cell phone service
  • Request a phone line move or change
  • Report problems with a recent phone installation
  • Update your faculty, staff, or department directory listing
  • Order Harvard or Verizon directories
  • Resolve a billing issue
  • Plan a departmental phone or voice mail solution
  • Address the telecommunications aspects of a facility move or reconstruction project.

If you don't know a contact's name, call (617) 495-8590 or send us e-mail at telecom_orders@harvard.edu and request the contact's name and number. Be sure to indicate which of the above tasks you need to accomplish so we can provide you with the correct name.

By phone during business hours
For tasks not handled by department phone contacts, call Customer Service during business hours.

  • For voice mail problems or questions, call (617) 495-8255.
  • For billing inquiries, call (617) 495-5457.
  • For problems with your phone line or phone equipment call (617) 495-4900.
  • For other routine inquiries, call the main Customer Service line at (617) 495-8590.
