Using Guest, Home, and Secretary mailboxes

Your voice mail service includes three password-protected mailboxes - two Guest mailboxes (box 91 and 92) and one Home mailbox (box 93) - that all operate in an identical fashion. These mailboxes are private areas of your mailbox where you can exchange messages with non-subscribers such as family members, non-Harvard colleagues or friends, and Harvard students who live off campus.

The chief benefit of these mailboxes is that you can leave private messages for these selected individuals without having to figure out how to reach them (they can just dial in to retrieve their messages). Whenever you listen to your messages, you will always hear messages from your Home mailbox first.

Secretary mailbox
A Secretary mailbox differs from Home and Guest mailboxes. It allows a trusted party to listen to a LIST of your voice mail messages - including date, time, and sender -- but does not allow the "secretary" to actually listen to the messages themselves. This can be useful in situations where you are not able to access the voice mail system yourself.

Mailbox numbers and passwords
Each Guest and Home mailbox is assigned a 2-digit destination code that you'll need to know in order to leave a message in one of these mailboxes.
Guest 1 mailbox is number 91
Guest 2 mailbox is number 92
The Home mailbox is number 93.
A Secretary mailbox does not require a destination code.

For each of these mailboxes, you will want to assign a unique password and give that password to the appropriate mailbox user.

To create/change a password for Guest 1 (box 91) press 4-2-1-3

To create/change a password for Guest 2 (box 92) press 4-2-1-4

To create/change a password for the Home mailbox (box 93) press 4-2-1-2

To create/change a password for the Secretary mailbox press 4-2-1-5

If you decide to assign one of your special mailboxes to a new user, be sure to change the password. Changing the password erases any messages stored in the relevant mailbox.
