Using playback controls

When listening to your messages, you can use the keys on the phone pad much like the buttons on a conventional tape recorder: to replay a message, pause during replay, skip over a message, or increase the playback speed or volume. We suggest you post these playback instructions next to your phone so you can practice using them until they become second nature.

If someone interrupts you while you are listening to your messages, you can pause the playback.

To pause for 20 seconds during playback, press 2

To extend the pause for an additional 20 seconds, press 2-2

To resume playback after a pause, press 2 again

If you didn't catch a word or a phone number, you can listen to the entire message or a portion of it again. You can also "turn up the volume" or slow down the playback.

To rewind 10 seconds during playback, press 1

To rewind to the start of a message, Press 1-1

To replay a message after it has ended, press 4

To increase playback volume, press 9

To return playback volume to normal level, press 8

To slow down playback, press 4

To slow down further, press 4 again

To speed up playback, press 6

In a hurry? Is the caller rambling? You can speed things up.

To fast forward 10 seconds during playback, press 3

To fast forward to end of a message, press 3-3

To skip to the next message, press #

To speed up playback, press 6

Trying to figure out who called and when?
