Wireless Rental Information/Short-term Wireless Rental Rates
UIS Telecommunications offers wireless telephones for short or long-term rental for departments. We have domestic and international handsets available for rental by the week or month.
Rates
- $21.00 per week or portion of a week. Example: if a handset were rented for 19 business days, the rental charge would be for 3 weeks (21 days).
- $0.40 per minute of usage (voice or data).
- Voicemail is available
- All additional costs are pass-through charges such as directory assistance, roaming, long distance, international charges, etc.
- UIS provides the following: user manuals, chargers (both US and foreign if needed) and a handset.
- Users are responsible for lost or damaged equipment. There is a $175.00 replacement fee for lost or damaged handsets.
Requesting Service
- 24-hour notice is required by UIS Telecommunications Customer Service. Please call (617-49)5-8590 to reserve a handset.
- Print the wireless rental application form and complete it. Fax the completed form to our office at (617-49)6-7337.
- A 33 digit departmental billing code is required at the time of request. We do not accept cash, checks or credit cards. Departmental billing occurs after UIS Telecommunications Customer Service receives and processes the invoice from the service provider.
- Equipment must be picked up and returned to the UIS Telecommunications Office at 1230 Soldiers Field Road, Boston, MA 02135. UIS now offers a 3rd party courier service for your convenience, current rates are:
- Allston to Cambridge $10.00
- Cambridge to Allston $10.00
- Allston to Longwood Medical Area $11.00
- Longwood Medical Area to Allston $11.00
UIS Telecommunications is not responsible for lost or misdirected packages.
