System Administration

The SOC technical support staff manages UNIX based and Local Area Network (LAN) based infrastructures. The SOC's System Administrators provide system installations, configurations, support and management of operating systems and associated software for UNIX and NT servers.

Soc System administration functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Initial installation and configuration of servers
  • Capacity planning
  • Security administration
  • Hardware and software change management
  • Operating system maintenance
  • Maintenance of associated server software
  • Participation in installation of software monitoring agents
  • Establishment of all backup and recovery schedules
  • Assistance with technical architecture development
