Stay informed with the July Resource

The June issue of the Resource is now available online; visit the paper by selecting the link to the left or the headlines below:

  • News: Who does Harvard call a hero? Right on time (as if they could do it any other way), the 125 employees hailed as the Harvard Heroes of 2008 poured out from Annenberg to Sanders, where trumpet fanfare blared and a capacity crowd of coworkers, family and friends rose to welcome the recipients of this year’s awards. For the fifteenth year, the Harvard Heroes ceremony had begun.

No ceremony necessary: Just say 'thank you'. The main reason American employees cite for leaving their jobs, according to the U.S. Department of Labor, isn’t dissatisfaction with pay or benefits. It’s that they “don’t feel appreciated.”

  • Glad you asked:How long do I have to wait for a check to deposit to my HUECU account?

  • Opinion: A Muggle's-eye view of Commencement "When I found out that this year’s Commencement speaker would be J.K. Rowling, I did what I had to do to get a ticket,” says Harvard University Press’s Adriana Kirilova. “No way I was missing that. And was it the amazing experience I hoped it would be? You bet.”

  • Profile: She manages the millions behind the mission. As the associate dean for finance at the Radcliffe Institute, Susan Pintus doesn't run the Schlesinger Library at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, but she does make sure its budgets are in good order so it can be run well.
