Collect, third-party, and 900 # calls
Harvard University and PaeTec STRONGLY DISCOURAGES certain categories of calls.
These include:
- Collect calls
- Third-party-billed calls
- Calls to 900, 700 and 976 numbers, also called "special service"
calls
Because collect and third-party calls originate outside the University's Centrex
system, they cannot be charged to the PBN of the individual who accepts the
call. PaeTec will make every attempt to place the calls on the account of the
person who accepted the calls. If it cannot be determined who accepted the calls
they will be placed on the account of one of the room’s occupants. Students
must take responsibility for tracking such calls to avoid placing an unfair
burden on other occupants of the room.
1-900, 1-700 or 1-976 Numbers
The phone system restricts premium services such as entertainment and information
service numbers like 1-900, 1-700 and 1-976 numbers. To dial one of these numbers
it is required that you bill your call to a calling card or a third party number
that does not subscribe to PaeTec services.
