Email and Calendaring Product Overview
Microsoft Exchange 2003 will be offered to Harvard University schools, departments, and affiliates on a fee-for-service basis. This service will replace the current NSS offering called CaMail and will be offered under the new service name called ICE! (Integrated Communications with Exchange). Services will include fully managed email domains for subscribers and a suite of rich client desktop and web e-mail and calendar applications. UIS/NSS recognizes the importance of collaborative messaging and scheduling communication to our community and considers e-mail and calendar access to be like “dial-tone” service, and strives to insure service availability at all times.

- Mobile Device & PDA Synchronization-Over-the-Air (SOTA) for mail, calendar and contact information for approved devices including Blackberry, Treo650 and Windows Mobile 5.0 devices
- Server-side user based message filtering (the same server-side message filters apply to both native and web client message access)
- Virus scanning of inbound and outbound messages
- Improved anti-spam& anti-phishing handling
- Larger mailbox quotas – 150 MB
- Higher infrastructure availability and scalability
- Improved Recovery Point Objectives and Recovery Time Objectives
