Windows
95, 98, and NT fix for PeopleSoft
To solve a problem in PeopleSoft
where users on Windows 95, 98, and NT systems are occasionally "kicked
out" from screens where they are entering data, the file linked below needs
to be downloaded and executed. This will make an update to the computer's Registry
that will alleviate the problem.
If you are uncertain whether or not
you should install this fix, please contact your local IT department, or the
UIS Help Desk at 496-2001.
Installation Instructions
(using Internet Explorer)
- Save all open files and close
all programs except for this browser window
- Click on the link below
- When prompted, press the "Save"
button.
- Save the file to your desktop;
when complete you should see a file named clientcache.reg on your desktop
- Double click the file. You will
receive a message asking if you are sure you want to add the information in
the file to the registry; click on "Yes"
- You will see a message indicating
that the information was successfully entered into the registry. IF YOU DO
NOT SEE THIS MESSAGE you will need to contact your local IT department to
have them install the update.

has been made and you should not experience the problem in PeopleSoft.
- You may delete the file from your
desktop once you have finished installing it.
