About Technology Services

Technology Services is a department at Harvard that manages vendor partnerships including Apple, Lenovo, GovConnection, Microsoft, Adobe and others. We advocate for best pricing and product availability on behalf of the University community.

Harvard’s partnerships with these vendors provide substantial savings on computers, software, peripherals and accessories exclusively to Harvard students, faculty, staff, departments, Harvard affiliated hospitals and Harvard affiliated institutions.

Our vendor partners are often on campus meeting with departments, consulting with students at the Computer Product & Repair Center or hosting free “lunch and learn” workshops.

Apple Partnership

Technology Services is an authorized Apple higher educational reseller serving students, faculty, staff, departments and Harvard affiliated hospitals and Harvard affiliated institutions.

Our partnership with Apple provides the University community with exceptional and exclusive pricing on Apple computers. Harvard’s pricing on Apple computers is better than Apple higher-ed and Apple retail pricing throughout the year.

Available and recommended with your purchase of an Apple computer is the AppleCare Warranty Protection plan. This plan upgrades your warranty from a 1-year to a 3-year carry-in plan and upgrades the 90-day phone support to 3-year phone support which is an ideal service for the college student.

Lenovo Partnership

For the past five years Lenovo has been Harvard’s vendor partner for Windows PCs offering savings of up to 44% exclusively to our faculty, staff, departments and Harvard affiliated hospitals and Harvard affiliated institutions.

Harvard has a direct purchasing partnership with Lenovo which means that you order your computer directly from Lenovo and it is shipped to you directly from Lenovo (an inventory of product is not maintained at Harvard). To access Lenovo’s web site for Harvard visit www.computers.harvard.edu and select Personal or Departmental. Choose from one of the standard models available for Harvard purchasers or, use the custom configurator to build the computer that best suits your needs as a student, faculty member, or administrator.

Also available from Lenovo is the ThinkPad Protection warranty to protect your investment against power surges, liquid spills and LCD damage caused by a drop or fall. We highly recommend that this be added to your purchase.

Peripherals and Accessories

GovConnection, a PC Connection company, provides you with thousands of peripherals, accessories and other technology products to choose from at competitive prices. Place your order with GovConnection and they will ship direct to you. Free ground shipping is available to all personal purchasers.

Software

Personal purchasers including faculty, students and staff interested in purchasing software for personal use should visit www.computers.harvard.edu and select “Shop at Harvard”. A selection of software from Microsoft, Adobe, Apple and other vendors is available for purchase at significant savings.

Harvard departments interested in purchasing for their staff should visit www.computers.harvard.edu and select “Login for Departments” for information on how to purchase licenses and media. Software Licensing also offers licenses and media to qualified Harvard affiliated hospitals and Harvard affiliated institutions. A purchase order is required to place an order and can be sent to software_licensingpo@harvard.edu.

Shop at Harvard

Visit our campus store, the Computer Product & Repair Center conveniently located in the Science Center, One Oxford Street in Cambridge. Featured are a selection of the latest laptop and desktop computers from Apple and Lenovo, software products from manufacturer’s including Microsoft and Adobe, Apple iPods and a selection of peripherals and accessories.

Stop by for hands on demonstrations of the computers and consult with our knowledgeable staff before making a purchase.

Please note that online orders are available for pick-up at our 219 Western Ave. location in Allston, MA only; online orders are not available for pick-up at the Computer Product & Repair Center located in the Science Center.
