Prior to joining WDS, Ryan took a leave of absence to volunteer on several oceanographic research expeditions. During this time he spent three weeks on a British icebreaker off the coast of Greenland and four weeks on a US Coast Guard icebreaker north of Alaska...with no web access and only two e-mail uploads a day!
Ryan has a particular interest in the changing landscape of the web at Harvard, and examining how WDS and UIS can support this evolving environment. Current areas of interest include content management and support of collaborative environments. Ryan studied Chemistry at Harvey Mudd College in California and came to Boston to attend graduate school at MIT, where he received a Masters in Technology and Policy.
Prior to joining WDS, Ryan worked for UIS Network and Server Systems as the manager of the UIS Helpdesk and UIS liaison to the Peoplesoft implementation project.
